TERMS OF USE
SOC4SME is a project funded by the European Union (“SOC4SME Project”).
The following Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, and Terms of Use statement (“Statement”) is an essential part of the SOC4SME Project website and its content. The SOC4SME Project’s website and its content and tools found at [https://soc4sme.eu] are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “SOC4SME Website”.
The SOC4SME Website is hosted, managed, and operated by Karavias Underwriting Agency, as the coordinator of the SOC4SME Project (to be contacted at: grsmesoc@gkaravias.gr).
This Statement is provided to the visitors and/or users of the SOC4SME Website (each a “User” and together “Users”).
The SOC4SME Website is produced, maintained, and updated by the partners of the SOC4SME Project – the partners together forming the “SOC4SME Consortium” – and is intended to provide Users with access to information about SOC4SME Project activities and to disseminate SOC4SME Project results.
All material, including images, data, information, logos, and videos, on the SOC4SME Website is owned by the SOC4SME Consortium or individual partners of the SOC4SME Project, as agreed among said partners, and is subject to copyright protection.
Opinions, views, information, and other material on the SOC4SME Website reflect only the views of the author(s) and not those of the funding body of the SOC4SME Project, the European Commission, the European Research Executive Agency, or any other institution of the European Union. No such body can be held responsible for the content presented.
By accessing, browsing, or using the SOC4SME Website (including any services provided through the Website or by third parties linked from the Website), the User declares that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Statement and the laws and regulations referenced herein. If a User does not agree with this Statement and/or does not accept the obligations outlined herein, they must refrain from using the SOC4SME Website.
This Statement may be revised by the SOC4SME Consortium from time to time. Therefore, the SOC4SME Consortium recommends that Users regularly check for updates. In the event of major changes that may affect the Users’ rights or obligations, the SOC4SME Consortium will notify Users through prominent announcements on the SOC4SME Website.
COOKIE POLICY
The SOC4SME Website uses cookies to personalize each User’s online experience. A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on your computer by your web browser. When you request another page from the server, your browser sends the cookie back to the server.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature that saves the User’s time and enhances website functionality. In the SOC4SME Project, we use cookies relevant to Google Analytics.
By accessing the SOC4SME Website, Users accept the use of third-party non-functional cookies.
Please also be aware that the SOC4SME Consortium makes every effort to respect each User’s cookie preferences. However, it is possible that not all cookies will be blocked automatically. If this is a concern, Users are advised to manage their cookie settings through their web browser. The help function of the browser provides instructions on how to adjust these settings.
PRIVACY POLICY
This policy provides detailed information about the processing of information relating to an identified or identifiable person—such as name, identification number, location data, etc. (“Personal Data”)—when using the SOC4SME Website, including how Users can exercise their rights regarding their Personal Data.
Personal Data collected through the SOC4SME Website is processed in accordance with relevant and applicable data protection laws and regulations, including REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (“GDPR”).
Responsibility for Data Collection
The data collected on the SOC4SME Website is processed by Karavias Underwriting Agency, as both the operator of the SOC4SME Website and the coordinator of the SOC4SME Project.

Data Collection and Purposes for the Data Collection
When visiting the SOC4SME Website, certain data that may be considered Personal Data (e.g., IP address) is automatically collected and processed for technical and statistical purposes.
The SOC4SME Website also collects and processes Personal Data when a User contacts the SOC4SME Project via the predefined contact form on the Website or by email. In such cases, the name and email address provided by the User are collected in order to respond to inquiries or provide information.
If a User subscribes to the SOC4SME newsletter, their name and email address are collected for the purpose of delivering updates and relevant project information. The collection, use, and storage of this data for communication purposes is based on the User’s consent, as well as the Project’s legitimate interest, in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR.
Personal Data may also be used by the SOC4SME Project for statistical analysis and to support the optimal functioning and improvement of the SOC4SME Website.
The SOC4SME Project may retain communications submitted by a User when completing the contact forms on the SOC4SME Website or when sending an email to grsmesoc@gkaravias.gr, in order to process inquiries, respond to requests, improve the SOC4SME Website, or provide the User with assistance related to the SOC4SME Project and its services.
Contact information provided by the User will be used solely for communication purposes, such as sending updates about the project, newsletters, or other related content and support services. If the User does not wish to receive such communications, they may notify the SOC4SME Project at any time via the contact form or email.
The SOC4SME Project does not use the Website to collect special categories of Personal Data as defined in Art. 9(1) GDPR, such as information relating to political opinions, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or health data.
Analytics and Third-Party Tools and Links
The SOC4SME Project may collaborate with external service providers to help analyze the usage of the SOC4SME Website and optimize its performance in order to deliver the best possible user experience.
In this context, the SOC4SME Project may use tools such as
1. Google Analytics by Google Inc. to monitor website traffic and user interactions,
2. stat.g.doubleclick.net for tracking visit patterns and optimizing performance,
3. pbs.twimg.com, which are social media tracking cookies,
and integrations with platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn, to allow Users to follow SOC4SME’s social media presence, view social media feeds, or share content directly from the website.
The SOC4SME Website may also contain links to or from other websites operated and maintained by independent third parties (e.g., project partners) – referred to here as “Third Party Sites.” The SOC4SME Project has no control over these Third Party Sites and assumes no responsibility for their availability, content, or compliance with data protection standards.
Additionally, the SOC4SME Project does not manage or block cookies placed by these Third Party Sites. Users are encouraged to review the privacy and cookie policies of any linked external websites they visit.
Data Subjects’ Rights
The SOC4SME Project is committed to ensuring that you, as a User, are fully aware of your rights under data protection law concerning your Personal Data. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you are entitled to the following:
- The right to withdraw your consent – If data processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with future effect. Data processed prior to withdrawal remains lawful. Data processed on other legal grounds may still be processed accordingly.
- The right of access – You have the right to request copies of the Personal Data the SOC4SME Project holds about you.
- The right to rectification – You may request the correction of inaccurate Personal Data or the completion of incomplete data concerning you.
- The right to erasure – Also known as the “right to be forgotten“, you may request the deletion of your Personal Data under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing – You may request the restriction of processing of your Personal Data under specific circumstances.
- The right to object to processing – You may object to the processing of your Personal Data if the processing is based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes.
- The right to data portability – You may request that your Personal Data be transferred to another organization, or directly to you, where technically feasible.
